What ETC offers

The Entrepreneurship & Technology Club (ETC) offers HSG students practical startup experience while providing startups with motivated support. Students benefit from:

Real Startup Cases

Small interdisciplinary student teams work part-time on real startup challenges for several weeks. Challenges span from business model validation to legal research to go-to-market questions to many more. Preparing you for your own ventures, working in venture capital, or joining an already existing startup.

🧠 Structured work

Real Consulting Experience

A platform enabling students to apply their business & law skill set to solve real startup challenges (incl. deep tech). Students gain varied insights into the startup world while providing real value to entrepreneurs. Each student receives a certificate of completion for their case work upon finalization.

🤝 Community

Real Community & Impact

A platform of like-minded peers interested in startups, entrepreneurship and technology. Real, in-depth collaboration with multiple startups instead of just "networking drinks". Events with startups, startup visits, and hackathon-style challenges. ETC is a welcoming community for students with or without their own startup idea.

ETC x Startups

The Entrepreneurship & Technology Club (ETC) enables startups to gain access to structured business & law consulting from motivated HSG teams. Startups benefit from:

Dedicated business & law support (mini-consulting team)

Student teams work with your startup on a concrete business or law challenge for several weeks while providing research, validation and structured input. You gain access to your own mini-consulting team and give HSG students a valuable insight into the startup world in return.

Diverse perspectives

Motivated HSG Students with diverse backgrounds and experiences bring complementary viewpoints to your startup's business challenges and drive impact with no additional costs on your end. Collaborate closely and get an early feedback loop, iterating over different solution approaches together with our student teams.

Access & visibility

Engagement with ETC increases your visibility at HSG and connects you with our students, association and alumni network. Many of our motivated students go on to become top consultants at companies such as McKinsey & Company and mutually benefit from startup insights while delivering value.

Join as a student

We’re looking for curious, motivated and skilled students with a business, law, or tech background. Prior experience with startups, venture capital, or own ventures is a plus, but not required.

Who can join?

All HSG students who have already passed their assessment year are welcome to join. Furthermore, cross-university collaborations are welcome, so if you are a student from another university (ETH, UZH, etc.), feel free to shoot us a message.

Time commitment

Time commitment varies depending on project phase, startup challenge and point in time in the semester, however you can expect a commitment of ~2–3 hrs/week during project blocks. No commitment is expected around exam periods.
